Parents Council Committees Get involved and join one of the Parents Council committees and initiatives:

Back to School Bash & Community Events

A committee that plans our biggest kick-off event of the year, the Back to School Bash, that sets the theme for the year and is open to all parents and faculty and staff. They also help coordinate school community events throughout the year.

Book Fair

A school-wide book fair is planned each March for all ages by this committee that fosters a love for reading and learning together. A book fair along with grade and division programs are planned across the school.

Challah Bake

A fun and meaningful evening that coincides with the Shabbat Project in November, where girls in grades 1-8 are joined by their moms/women for the mitzvah of baking challah as a part of a broader Jewish initiative.

Chanukah Boutique/Festival of Lights

A community-wide event to shop and socialize to get ready for Chanukah and get into the Chanukah spirit.

Chesed & Lifecycle

A volunteer group to support our community near and far; and a group for outreach and support of MDS families going through lifecycle events.

Comedy Night

Parents Council's biggest parent fundraiser to support Parents Council initiatives. Join us for our annual Comedy Night and Auction at Stand Up NY. There's always a surprise in store and so much fun to be had!

Cultural & Continuing Education Committee

A committee to plan and participate in exciting and new cultural events for parents and families around New York, including private tours and family programs; and to create learning opportunities and speaker programs on various topics throughout the year.

Mishloach Manot
