  • Students, Parents, Faculty Donate Their Hair

    On Tuesday morning, a group of MDS students, parents, and faculty took part in a selfless act of chessed, donating their hair to Zichron Menachem, an Israeli organization helping children with cancer and their families. "I'm really glad I was able to help kids with cancer," says Fifth Grader Ava Brooks, who donated for the second time with MDS. "I felt good about myself because I did a mitzvah."

  • Highlights from the Seventh Grade Boston Trip

    Seventh graders spent two days traveling around Boston this week, learning about America's early history, culture, science and literature. After meeting members of the Wampanoag Indian Tribe at Plimoth Plantation, they traveled to English Village where they learned how Pilgrims lived in the 17th century. Additional stops included the Museum of Science, Quincy Market, and Boston Harbor, among others.

  • MDS Students Excel in National Math Competition

    Students in Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Grades were among more than 33,000 students from 772 schools in 47 states who participated in the Noetic Learning National Math Contest. We were excited to announce the winners and present them with diplomas and medals. We are proud of our students for so beautifully representing MDS.

  • Seventh Graders Advocate at NORPAC

    Seventh graders Eli Berman, Joseph Savenor and Henry Wildes attended the NORPAC Mission to Washington on Wednesday. This annual event brings close to 1,000 citizen activists together to advocate for a stronger U.S.-Israel relationship with Members of Congress.

  • Stock Market Talk Promotes Financial Literacy

    In preparation for the sixth grade Stock Market Game competition, Mr. Daniel Posner (Jordana, 6G), Chief Investment Officer at GC Synexus, Golub Capital BDC, Inc., visited the girls' and boys' classes to teach students how to research stocks and evaluate companies. The program is part of a greater effort to promote financial literacy.

  • Teachers Participate in Professional Development Workshop

    MDS launched its online Math Academy featuring videos for each grade explaining math concepts learned in class. Additionally, MDS teachers attended a professional development workshop on topology at the National Museum of Mathematics.
