Manhattan Day School / Yeshiva Ohr Torah is an Orthodox Yeshiva in New York City which strives to inspire our students with a love of learning. We offer programs for students in nursery (age 2) through eighth grade in Jewish and general studies in a nurturing educational environment.

Our mission is a commitment to educational excellence and the development of the whole child academically, intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Under the close guidance of devoted faculty, our students develop sound moral principles based on the Torah.  We place a strong emphasis on open communication between student and teacher, and we aim to have every student develop a positive self-image to assist them in their entrance to the adult world.

Our thoughts are with those families who are out of power. We understand that there will be significant transportation issues for some of our students and teachers to get to school.  Of course, you should only leave your homes if it is safe to do so. If you have lost power or experienced damage to your home, the MDS Community is here to help. Please contact Pia Rubin, or Rachel Solomons. We will try to connect you with other MDS families who live near school and can offer a place to shower, some food, or whatever you may need. If you would like to open your home to others, please let us know as well.
